Adjustable consistency

Advantage for floor installers: They can adjust the consistency according to their needs: slightly creamy with 4.5 liters of gauging water or more liquid with 5 liters. This "trick" has another positive effect. Since the required amount of mixing water is lower than with previous levelling compounds, the surface dries more quickly and is thus faster ready to receive flooring. Despite the comparatively low amount of mixing water, AS 1 has been formulated with even further improved flow and self-levelling properties. Floor layers will appreciate its ease of application: the compound spreads easily to produce layers of 1 to 20 mm thickness without any effort.

AS 1 does not sag

The special formulation of AS 1 ensures optimized filling power and excellent resistance to sagging. Even when levelling large uneven areas, there is hardly any sagging after the compound has dried. This means high security and hardly any risks for the floor layer.

No waiting time after priming

Another advantage: The gypsum-based levelling compound can be applied on a variety of freshly primed substrates without waiting time, for example on new, firmly secured particle and OSB boards, screed and concrete, ceramic tiles, natural stone and terrazzo as well as on old substrates with firmly adhering, water-resistant adhesive residues.

Step by step

Step 1

The substrates must be clean, free from structural defects, firm, permanently dry, and free of release agents. See more details for the preparation of the substrate in the Technical Data Sheet

Step 2

Pour the specific amount of clean water into a clean mixing tub and stir in 25 kg of Ceresit AS 1 using a suitable electric stirrer. Stir for about 2 minutes until the mixture is free of lumps.

Step 3

Apply the levelling compound in the required layer thickness using a smoothing trowel or spreader.
