Fibre Force - How it works?

This innovation from Ceresit is based on fibres and provides great strenght and flexibility. The fibres in Ceresit tile adhesives create a reinforced zone, that forms a bond with the tile and help maintain the polymer matrix together in the long term.

When installing the tile, due to the pressure exerted when pushing the tiles into place, a film of fine particles of binder, polymer particles and now additionally with fibers is formed below the tile. Without fibers, the film would shrink after drying and lose its stability over the years.

Thanks to the new solution, based on fibres, you can achieve long-lasting effect even on the most demanding and critical areas.

After application of the tile adhesive, the cement microstructure will slowly release the water up to a certain residual moisture. This process can take several years. Naturally, this continuous shrinkage process produces stresses which could in the worst-case cause detachment of the tile.

The polymers present in Ceresit flexible tile adhesives strengthen the structure of the cement matrix, guarantee a good chemical bond to – even critical – tiles and substrates and simultaneously act as a flexible buffer between the compounds.
Ceresit has developed a complete range of Fibre Force flexible tile adhesives based on fibre technology. Using new Ceresit Fibre Force products provide benefits such as strength increase, reduction of water absorption, better dimensional stability and long-lasting durability over the years.

The fibres used in the whole range of Ceresit Flexible tile adhesives (CM 12, CM 12+, CM12+ WHITE, CM 14, CM 16, CM 17 and CM 22) fulfill the criteria given in Notes Q and R (Nr. 1.1.3, Annex VI to the CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008) of the European Commission. This kind of fibers is not classified as cancerogenic by the European Commission.

The use of the fibres in Ceresit Flexible tile adhesives does not affect classification and labeling of the products, and it does not change the current prevention and control measures recommended for their handling and application.

This clearly confirms that the fibres used in Ceresit Flexible tile adhesive range are completely harmless when following the same safety measures as when using tile adhesive without fibres.
