Ceresit CR 166 is a two-component flexible slurry, strengthened with fibres and designed for waterproofing and damp-proofing on deformable and non-deformable mineral substrates – suitable for internal and external use on walls, floors and ceilings.

Ceresit CR 166 flexibility allows it to bridge ≥ 0,75 mm wide cracks – even in cold conditions.

It can be applied on balconies and terraces (including cantilevered types), permanent and temporary wet rooms, swimming pools, and on walls and floors as a waterproofing layer used underneath coverings associated with tile adhesives. It can also be used for waterproofing and concrete protection structures embedded in the ground (basement walls, foundations, etc.), plinth zones and water tanks, including drinking water, municipal sewage treatment plants and septic tanks.

Ceresit CR 166 coating delays the carbonation process and provides effective anti-corrosion protection for concrete/reinforced concrete land and water structures (e.g. garages, pillars, bridges) against severe atmospheric conditions and aggressive substances dissolved in water (e.g. de-icing salts, seawater). UV resistant. VOC low emission. Proven radon tightness.

Ceresit CR 166 Flexible Slurry is a part of Ceresit cementitious slurries range with Hydroslide Effect.

TERRACE WATERPROOFING WITH CR 166

Step by step

1. Check and clean the substrate and prewet mineral substrate

2. Prepare the components: the powder – 24 kg (component A) and liquid 8 l (component B)

3. Pour comp. B to the bucket (add 25% of water for 1st contact layer)

4. Add comp. A in required ratio

5. Mix until homogenous, let the slurry mature for 5 min. and mix shortly

6. Apply 1st layer of CR 166 with brush

7. Fix the tape (e.g. CL 152) into fresh 1st layer in places of expansion joints, inner corners or joints between different material types

8. Adjust consistency to relevant application tool

9. Apply subsequent layer of CR 166 with trowel or roller

10. When covering a large areas, it is possible to apply CR 166 with a spray gun

11. As a final step, smooth the surface with a trowel

12. Ready for tiles fixing after min 12 h. Colour change of the slurry indicates drying
