Clean the facade

Facade cleaning

Wash the façade with a pressure washer using Ceresit CT 98 stain remover.

In the first stage spray the surface with Ceresit CT 98 stain remover (dilution according to the intensity of the stain) and leave for 10-15 minutes. You can also use a brush or a sponge for application. The concentrate CT 98 can be diluted by water from 1:1 to 1:4.

Then wash the facade with water using a pressure washer or a brush and leave it to dry.

Depending on contamination level, it may be necessary to repeat these steps.

Apply ceresit CT 19 anti-fungus

Application of Ceresit CT 99 Anti-Fungus concentrate

After 24 h, when the facade is dry, spray the facade with Ceresit CT 99 fungicide concentrate using a garden sprayer and leave it to dry.

Paint the facade

Painting of the facade

If after washing of the facade, only hairline cracks are visible, you can proceed with painting. Use low absorbency and high vapour permeability paints. We recommend Ceresit CT 48 or Ceresit CT 49. You can dilute them with up to 5% of water. The paint should be applied in two coats at least.

Please note:

  • In the case of a loose and absorbent substrate, the primer Ceresit CT 17 should be applied at a 1:1 dilution before painting.

Tips & Tricks

For professionals

How to protect the facade during painting works?

Ceresit SILICONE SELF CLEAN CT 48 or CT 49 paint should not be applied on strongly sunny surfaces. The facade should be protected against rain until the paint dries completely. It is recommended to use scaffolding protection. Work on one surface should be carried on without any breaks. The area not to be painted, e.g. windows, should be protected with foil. Any stains should be immediately rinsed with water.
