CERESIT® Thermo Universal adhesive is an integral component of ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems) within the Ceresit Ceretherm system, using EPS (white and graphite), XPS, MW boards, and lamellas. Ceresit Thermo Universal adhesive is used for bonding EPS (white and graphite), XPS, and MW boards, as well as for producing a reinforced layer in combination with the Ceresit CT 325 glass fiber mesh, both for new masonry buildings and for existing buildings requiring thermal insulation. Available packaging: 25 kg bag.

Fixing thermal insulation boards: THERMO UNIVERSAL mortar shows good adhesion to carrying, compact and dry substrates. Reinforced layer application. When THERMO UNIVERSAL is bounded (after approx. 3 days), any unevenness of the boards should be grounded with abrasive paper, any loose particles of insulation materials carefully brushed and the boards additionally reinforced.
CERESIT THERMO UNIVERSAL should be poured into water and stirred until the homogenous mass is obtained. Fixing thermal insulation boards: mortar should be applied and then the board should be pressed to the wall. Reinforced layer application: the glass fibre mesh should be applied on the fresh mortar and smoothed evenly. Fixing mineral wool boards: before application of the adhesive mortar CERESIT Thermo Universal it is necessary to apply thin coat of it as ‘priming’ of surface. 4. Reinforcing layer application: before proper base coat layer application, it is necessary to do the ‘priming’ layer on Mineral Wool surface. After drying time, the reinforced layer should be applied.
The reinforced base layer must not be applied to surfaces exposed to very high levels of solar radiation and the applied layer must be protected from rain. The application must be carried out in dry conditions with the substrate and the ambient temperature between +5 °C and +25 °C. The skin and eyes should be protected.
CERESIT Thermo Universal is designed as part of the external thermal insulation system CERESIT Ceretherm, using slabs of expanded or expanded polystyrene (EPS, XPS) or rock wool. Thermo universal is used as as an adhesive for EPS, XPS or rock wool and for the application of the reinforced base layer to the insulation of newly built structures as well as of older buildings that are being upgraded for energy efficiency.
CERESIT THERMO UNIVERSAL can be applied on wall surfaces, coatings, mosaics and concrete free from grease, asphalt, dust and other substances which reduce adhesion.
